I could see there was something not right, expressed in the way you painted them. Aspects of the sub-jects persona had been blotted out. And they almost looked beautiful but their poses and expressions were not overly appealing making them look nearly the same as everyone else but not quite; and I ended up feeling a bit bothered, un- comfortable and then sad. I'm used to seeing gorgeousness. I'm often sent romantic poems as well as write them, so it was good to get me thinking like this.

the piano motif and a sense of rhythm is rarely far away ... the shadow in January Beach echoes the lid of a grand piano, the black and white on the Vero Beach Scene, the shapes on the Skateboard pictures, Sun Tea on a Desert Crate, L'escaliers Montreal and of course the wondrous Barber Bridge.
